We require a minimum of 2 weeks' notice before your wedding date, though we recommend ordering 4 weeks in advance for optimal cheese maturation and selection. We love early orders as this allows us to ripen everything to perfection. If you need a last-minute order, please contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Pay just £60 today to secure your cheese wedding cake and lock in your order. This allows you to get on with other wedding planning tasks without worrying about full payment. The remainder is collected 2-3 weeks before your wedding date, giving you maximum flexibility with your budget planning.
We recommend ordering for Wednesday or Thursday delivery for weekend weddings, at least 2 days before you need it. Since COVID, couriers no longer guarantee 24-hour delivery (though 99 out of 100 arrive on time). We pack plenty of ice so your cheese stays perfect for 48 hours. Choose your delivery date at checkout, and please leave safe place instructions with your order to avoid depot returns.
All cheese is sent in its original packaging (best for the cheese). You'll need a sharp knife for any vacuum-packed cheeses and clingfilm for handling. Most wedding cakes will stand under their own weight - simply stack them up in order. Only cakes with soft cheeses (Bries or Delice) lower down need dowelling - we'll notify you if this applies. No decorations are supplied, but a few flowers, figs, grapes, or herbs work wonders!
Absolutely! We often tweak our pre-designed cakes to suit personal tastes, and you can design your own completely bespoke cake. We sell over 150 cheeses (not all listed on the website) and can source most varieties. Contact us with your guest count, preferences, and other food available, and we'll recommend options and mock up designs for you.
We suggest 50-100g per person - 50g if cheese is eaten straight after a meal, more if it's an evening reception when guests need to soak up some drinks! About 75g per person is ideal for an evening do without leftovers. Quick calculation: multiply your guest count by the grams per person, then divide by 1,000 for kg. For example: 75g × 65 people = 4,875g ÷ 1,000 = 4.875kg (so a 5kg cake is perfect).
A 4kg cheese cake (about average) takes a few hours to warm to room temperature, then cheese is fine out for up to 8 hours. Don't place near radiators or sunny windows. You want it at room temperature for eating, so out for at least an hour is good. If setting up in the morning for an evening event, you can create a mini cool environment by popping a box over the cake with refrozen ice packs inside, then unveil it later.
Leftover cheese can be wrapped, refrigerated, and eaten a few days later. You can also freeze cheese if necessary - just portion it up before freezing. Hard cheeses like Cheddar last 6-8 weeks in the fridge once opened, whilst softer varieties like Brie last 2-3 weeks. Keep cheese in its original packaging until your wedding day for best results.
